Being able to photograph a wedding in such a special venue really is a great honour. There’s only very few weddings in the amazing Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool and I was privileged enough to photograph one of them.

The excitement, the anticipation, the “calm before the storm”… the ‘bride getting ready’ photographs have all those elements and it’s a very special time before the big event.
I love photographing this part of the day. The air of expectation is great to capture and it’s a great way to start telling the story of the day. Subtle black and white and muted tones are how I like to edit these photos. As I endeavour to blog some more of the 100+ weddings i’ve photographed… you’ll start to see some different examples of this unique, exciting part of the wedding day…

Finally getting round to posting some photos from the amazing day at the Hillbark Hotel recently. Being the middle of the wedding season it’s all go! But there’s always time to post a few photos whilst i’m editing all the other fantastic weddings this year!
I’m also very happy to announce i’m now the preferred wedding photographer of the Hillbark Hotel. It’s an amazing venue – and I definitely recommend popping in, having a coffee and having a chat to the great team there (even if you’re not getting married!) Often one of the best times for wedding photos is the “getting ready” part of the day. The expectations and emotions are running high with what’s about to come. People are running round making final adjustments and it’s a great opportunity to capture some special moments on camera. This photo I was outside capturing people arriving. I turned around briefly and realised some of the flower girls were peeking through the window of the lovely Tudor Hillbark Hotel.
It will be the largest, most grandiose wedding I have photographed yet. And I can’t wait!
Nestled in the beautiful Royden Park – the Hillbark Hotel is one of the North-West’s best kept secrets. No expense is being spared as the hotel’s operations manager is tying the knot this weekend. Stay tuned for a photo documentary of the amazing day!

I often feel blessed with the sheer diversity of people I get to photograph at weddings. This portrait is certainly no exception! I first photographed “Aunty Sheila” at a wedding a couple of years ago on the Wirral. I was delighted to see her again at her other niece’s wedding I was shooting recently. Full of character – she really is a delightful lady and an absolute pleasure to photograph. So here’s to you Aunty Sheila!
A crisp, sunny winter’s day was the perfect setting for Lisa and Glenn’s picture-perfect wedding at the Great Hall at Mains.
More photos will be posted from this amazing day – but as their wedding album design files are now in cyberspace – i’m quickly posting a page layout from their Graphistudio album. They’ve also gone for the luxurious metallic finish on their pages. For the small extra cost, the album will last them a lifetime. I don’t often design portrait style albums as my shots tend to be mostly landscape – but this album just works.
Once this new website is finished I will be playing catch up with all recent weddings to be blogged – so stay tuned!
